Voting is a cornerstone of our democracy, yet there is no guaranteed right to vote in the federal or Virginia constitutions. We support amending the Virginia constitution to: 1) repeal the felony disenfranchisement provision; and 2) insert an affirmative right to vote in Virginia that cannot be abridged by law.
We sent letters to all members of the Legislative Black Caucus urging them to lead the effort to make this constitutional amendment a reality.
