A Loved One's Story

These words are from a loved one of a person incarcerated at Wallens Ridge State Prison: "I speak to my loved one daily at Wallens Ridge State Prison. The prison is doing very little to prepare for this pandemic. So far…the inmates haven't been given cleaning supplies to clean their cells. They are given very little to eat and most meals aren't fit for human consumption. They get no fruits. The meat smells horrible. There are no veggies…maybe a bite of carrot and some cabbage. Not enough. They aren't given enough fluids. I pray for those who get no commissary. I know they are hungry. This treatment is inhumane. The prison will soon lock these people down with nothing. God only knows what will happen to them. I pray something is done."
