The ACLU of Virginia has sent a letter to the attorney for the Loudoun County School Board advising that it has the legal authority and obligation to implement non-discrimination and anti-bullying policies to prohibit discrimination and harassment on the basis of a person's actual or perceived sexual orientation or gender identity. Following public discussion at a meeting on Dec. 12, the board postponed action on a proposed policy until Jan. 10, 2017.
