2009 Annual Meeting and Crabfest

June 1, 2009 (All day)

On Sunday, June 1, the Northern Virginia Chapter of the Virginia ACLU mixed business with pleasure, serving up crabs to a record crowd at their Crabfest and Annual Meeting at Fort Hunt Park in Alexandria, VA.
The annual event, a tradition for the Northern Virginia chapter, featured Virginia's Executive Director Kent Willis. He discussed the ACLU's role in the Virginia Voter Restoration Project, as well as other cases the ACLU is taking on this year.
Northern Virginia Board President Steven Pershing and ACLU of Virginia co-founder Phil Hirschkop paid tribute to Mildred Loving, one of the defendants of the landmark Loving v. Virginia, who passed away in early May.
The chapter would like to thank everyone who attended the festivities.
